Kao-Jean got his PhD degree of Basic Medicine from the College of Medicine, National Cheng Kung University where he studied immunology and viral infectious diseases.
Prior to this position, Dr. Huang was the Deputy Executive Director of Institute of Biologics at Development Center for Biotechnology in Taipei, Taiwan. He lead the research teams in drug discovery with emerging modalities, including immune checkpoint blockers and bi-specific antibodies, and the cellular CAR-T cell therapy for the treatment of cancer, autoimmune and infectious diseases. Dr. Huang has been an assistant professor in National Dong Hwa University where he explored the potential application of nature compounds from herbs and coral for immune modulation and anti-viral drug discovery.
Dr. Huang is an immunologist and also an expert in viral infectious diseases, who has more than 15 years of experience in new drug discovery and development, including the drug modalities of nature compounds, biologics and gene-modified immune cells. Besides, Dr. Huang had led the team in developing the upstream process (USP) and downstream process (DSP) of CMC for biologics as well as gene-modified immune cells.
